Paws and Purrs Humane Society is a no-kill, not-for-profit organization dedicated to finding good homes for homeless cats and kittens. We are a small, all volunteer group providing veterinary care, socialization, and lots of TLC to our animals until they are matched with their forever guardians.

Paws and Purrs charges must be sterilized to avoid increasing the overpopulation of unwanted animals. All of our cats and kittens live in foster homes and are not caged in a shelter. Those we've helped include days old kittens, strays found outside near death, and, of course, all ages of animals who were abandoned or surrendered by their owners.

Paws and Purrs sends each cat and kitten home with a information booklet covering topics of general interest to adopters. Further, we have an excellent after care program designed to insure that animals adopted from us are living happily ever after in their forever homes. We're a continuing resource for our adopters and are always available to consult on any issues the adopters would like to discuss.

We adopt only to homes where the cats will not be declawed and will be kept exclusively indoors. All animals are microchipped, inoculated, tested for FIV and FeLV, and sterilized, age permitting. Current adoption fees are $125.00 for kittens less than 1 yr of age, and $100.00 for cats one yr. and older.

About our Foster Care Program

Paws and Purrs firmly believes that our foster caretakers are the "heart" of our group. Without these caring individuals who take unwanted cats and kittens into their homes and provide food, shelter, nurturing and loving care until permanent homes can be found, we would not be able to operate as a humane society. Since our caretakers know their foster animals best, we encourage them to be involved in the adoption process. We work closely with our foster homes and respect their opinions concerning the best placement for each individual cat or kitten in their care. Our goal is to insure that the animal is a well-suited match to the adopting family, and the caretaker's input is highly valued. We love purrfect endings!
